Lyrics

I was sitting there all night
In the soaking rain
I’m really thankful you came
Your car is warm
And I’m so tired
Can we stop for cigarettes?
Maybe tomorrow
I’ll stay at a friend’s
Do you mind if I sleep in?
Did I tell you how much
I love you?

Please take my monsters tonight
And maybe I’ll get some sleep
Please take my monsters tonight
And maybe you’ll like me

How much farther to your house?
Can I get something for my head?
Do you mind if I go straight to bed?

Please take my monsters tonight
And I can breathe a little bit
Ah ha ha ha
Please take my monsters tonight
And I can see a little bit
Ah ha ha ha
Please take my monsters tonight
And I can live a little bit
Ah ha ha ha
Please take my monsters tonight
You can like me again
Ah ha ha ha

And you can love me again

I was sitting there all night
In the soaking rain
I’m really thankful you came
You have no idea
What this means to me

Please take my monsters tonight
And I can breathe a little bit
Ah ha ha ha
Please take my monsters tonight
And I can see a little bit
Ah ha ha ha
Please take my monsters tonight
And I can live a little bit
Ah ha ha ha
Please take my monsters tonight
You can like me again
Ah ha ha ha
